We want to welcome you back to meetings and events in the Tri-Cities!

Washington State Governor Jay Inslee recently announced the reopening guidelines for Convention Centers, allowing us to open during Phase 2 at a capacity of 200 people or 30% per meeting room for business meetings, testing, and educational opportunities, as well as weddings for up to 30 attendees.

We want to assure you that the commitment to the health and safety of our employees, partners, clients, exhibitors, and attendees is our top priority. We have created customized capacity floor plans that address capacity limits to fit your needs and a flexible booking policy to allow peace of mind when scheduling your next event at the Three Rivers Convention Center. Our team is making modifications to exceed reopening guidelines, so you can feel confident booking your next event and your guests feel comfortable attending.

Here is what you can expect in the coming months:

Cleaning & Sanitation

We have adapted our cleaning and sanitation program to establish a comprehensive system of cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention. Additional cleaning and sanitation enhancements include electrostatic sprayers to thoroughly disinfect between meetings. Frequent cleaning and sanitation of high touch and high traffic areas will occur during events.

Physical Distancing & Face Coverings
Physical distancing protocols are established, including working with clients on adapted seating arrangements in meeting spaces. Contact the sales team to create a custom modified floor plan. All guests and staff are required to wear facial coverings, per City Kennewick guidelines.

Guest Amenities
Hand sanitizer will be available at locations throughout the venue. All restroom facility fixtures (Sinks and toilets) will be touchless. Water fountains will be single bottle fillers in public lobby areas.

Clear signage in both front and back of house will reinforce COVID-19 policies enforced by staff. Front of house signage will be placed in public common areas such as lobbies, restrooms, and at entryways.

Event Modifications
Staggered event times will be utilized if there are multiple events in the facility. Attendees are pre-registered and contact information is retained by event planners.

Food Service
Creative modifications to food service with more pre-packaged, individual service items, removal of self-serve buffets and coffee stations, and touchless mobile payment options.

Employee Safety
Employee training and healthy workplace protocols will be implemented, including use of appropriate personal protective equipment and staff wellness checks.

Flexible Booking Guidelines
With the uncertainty of the phased reopening timeline for more than 200 attendees, we have implemented flexible booking guidelines to reduce worries for events in 2021 and beyond.
• New business events can be booked for up to 200 people through December 31, 2020, (with limited services available) . Events with more than 200 people will be considered for January 2021 and beyond, with backup dates selected.
• New events can be booked for up to 500 people for January, February, and March with a maximum capacity of 50% of each event space. New events of all sizes can be booked for April through December 2021. For all 2021 events, additional backup dates may be selected within the following six months and all deposits will be transferred to the new date.
• Should event dates change within the six-month window (or rooms need to change) due to phased guidelines from state government, additional rental fees will not be charged.

While things may look a little different, the Three Rivers Convention Center’s team of experts and our commitment to safety remain unchanged. Stay healthy and rest assured that we will continue to adapt and prepare for the “New Normal”.
