The Kennewick Public Facilities District is responsible for the design, construction and operation of the Convention Center. Obligations and responsibilities of both the City of Kennewick and the District with respect to the Convention Center project is outlined in contractual agreements between the City and the District and defined in an Interlocal Agreement.
In September 2003 the Kennewick Public Facilities District contracted with VenuWorks to provide the operations and management of the Center. VenuWorks assisted the Kennewick Public Facilities District with the final development and provided operational input for the Three Rivers Convention Center. The Center opened its doors on June 19, 2004.
